Established by Hürriyet Newspaper this year, “Sign of the City Awards” have been announced. The new generation arts, culture and life centre of Istanbul, UNIQ Istanbul won the “Best Socio-Cultural Building” award in the category of Ongoing Projects.
“Sign of the City Awards” received more than 200 applications of 135 projects; and the jury committee awarded 28 projects in 16 categories. Named as the “Best Socio-Cultural Building” in the category of Ongoing Projects, UNIQ Istanbul will reveal a brand new approach to the city life. Developed on a 62,000 m2 of land with 150,000 m2 of construction space, the eco-friendly project will offer an arts, culture and city life in touch with nature. The complex comprises of multipurpose venues for arts, culture, entertainment and business. UNIQ Hall offers 10,000 m2 of space with 19 halls ranging from 10 to 120 seats and UNIQ Museum provides 2,500 m2 of exhibition space while Volkswagen Arena holds a capacity of 5,800 audiences, 2,500 seated and 3,300 standing. The 15,000 m2 UNIQ Foyer consists of stores, restaurants and cafes. UNIQ Studio and UNIQ Gallery are for cultural development. And UNIQ Office offers 19,000 m2 of office space for business life. Developed to host many national and international concerts, congresses, conferences and meetings, UNIQ Istanbul will definitely be centre of attraction for all Istanbulites.
